For nearly two decades, I have walked alongside individuals and families navigating some of life's most challenging chapters particularly those living with Parkinson's disease and those facing end-of-life transitions. My philosophy is simple: care should always honor the person, never diminish them.
Parkinson's care requires a special kind of patience and observation. It's not just about helping someone move it's about understanding their unique rhythm, their 'on' and 'off' times, and finding ways to help them live fully within their capabilities. I’ve learned that sometimes the most important thing is to slow down, to listen not just to words but to the body, and to preserve dignity in every interaction, whether helping with a meal or assisting with personal care.
My hospice experience taught me that end-of-life care is about presence as much as it is about practical support. It's about creating a space where pain is managed, fears are acknowledged, and families feel supported. I believe in gentle touch, quiet reassurance, and helping people find peace in their final journey.
What drives me is seeing someone maintain their sense of self despite physical limitations. Whether it’s helping a gentleman with Parkinson's shave himself for as long as possible, or ensuring someone in hospice can enjoy their favorite music or scent, it’s those small victories that matter most.
Outside of caregiving, I’m an avid gardener and birdwatcher I often bring these calm, nature-focused elements into my care. There’s something profoundly healing about watching life grow and change, and I try to bring that perspective to every client I serve.
